Don't know if anyone on here knew Paul but today is the anniversary of his funeral 13 years ago......how time flies

It's not an exaggeration to say Paul was probably responsible for the whole rock music scene in Pompey - booking bands , starting
the Forearm Smash Roadshow and the endless struggle to get venues for it throughtout the years ( the Airballoon, Kentone Club,
Basins, Southsea Rock Gardens etc etc etc ,) , the Forearm Smash fanzine , writing for Kerrang Magazine and then playing the
brand new releases at the Forearm Smash night. He had helpers but he planted the seeds

He also had a job helping young offenders.

Paul was killed under a bus on October 14th 1991 in Lake Road , Portsmouth. He was cremated October 31st 1991.

His death was the catalist for the collapse of the Pompey scene - things were never the same again and i'm sure we never really
got over it.

He's gone but never forgotten.

I'd love to hear from anyone else who remembers the good old days

cheers
Simon

I do remember Paul miller.he was a good guy.I was a regular at the air balloon on Saturday nights.it was the best time ever.metal ruled in those days.its strange to think that one man created the metal buzz .he was a good DJ as well.he gave me a few albums by nuclear assault.may he rest in a metal peace.if that's not a contradiction!!!

Just been telling my son all about Paul... it's 2015.... still not forgotten and remembered fondly... and of course Freebird will always be linked with him as it was played at his funeral... I was proud to call him a friend

Paul was a great guy. He helped me when I started writing for Kerrang! in 85. He let me split reviews of indoor festival gigs with him where we would divide the bands between us.
I was very sad to hear of his death when I had just started managing the band Terrorvision. I think We were playing a gig in Walthamstow at the time very close to Blackhorse Road, a place a would end up living years later.
He was so young. A terrible loss.i still think about him which is how I discovered your board.
