Not if you are a Manchester musician, a great number of us are boycotting
the area after the story of this scam went round about the guy who did a gig
at a church social club, spending a total of four and a half hours there he
did two 45.min spots, then was asked to do an encore, when he went to get
paid by a bloke claiming to be the "manager" he was refused as unsuitable,
it took several weeks and finally a threat of County Court summons for
payment to be made, apparently there was also an entertainment agency from
Formby involved who did nothing to help, just what the motive was we are not
sure, theft ? , book cooking? whatever it was it stinks and on this occasion
backfired on the so called manager who did not manage to get a full nights
entertainment for nothing and will probably be let down many times as the
word spreads

details of this, musicians are a close knit community, we have Club name ,
managers name copies of all letters, we are putting together a few pages for
all who would like to read of this attempt at theft, also the "managers"
self styled opinions and insulting letter to the unpaid artist, who by the
way stood up for his rights and made a fool out of him
