The website for Headstone still doesn't seem to be up. Maybe I'm looking in
the wrong places!

Anyone around here remember teachers/pupils from the above era?

I remember Mrs King (English and French), Mr Morgan (music), Mrs Taylor and
her dog Pepe (gym), Miss Bicknell (Maths?) Mr Judge (Maths) Mrs Cox (My last
form teacher), Miss Coe (domestic science), and Mrs Lewis (needlework), Mr
Edwardes (geography), Mrs Knapman (English/religious knowledge), Andy Lewis
(gym), Miss Brown (Art), Miss McFarlane ( RE), Mr Evans (chemistry and
social studies) Mr Dey became the headmaster shortly after I started.

There are loads of other teachers that I can "see" but, cannot for the life
of me remember their names! There was another very lanky Welshman with
glasses who did gym and rugby. (Always wore black rugby shorts and knobly
knees)! The acne scarred teacher who took woodwork and metalwork. "Fag ash
Lil" who took R/K and wore directoire knickers (ala Mrs Slocome in "Are You
Being Served?")!

Amongst the pupils I remember :- The Gorringes, (Melanie & ?) The Hoskins,
(Loraine &? -both lived opposite the school) The Kings (who lived at Pinner
Green), Pauline and Philip Rose, Lalita Raj, Deanna Reeve, Olive Raynor (had
an eye for the firemen) Robert Lewis (Watford supporter) Mick Gibbs, John
Young (met him a few years ago when we both worked at LBH!) Gillian Camps
(also met at LBH) Linda Sobell (horse rider), Belinda King (from Persia),
Jane Cameron (Black tea, coffee, cocoa), Sandra Carter, Susan Harris, and
many more.

Anyone able to fill in a few more names, or correct any that I've
mis-remembered?

I'm using a pseudonym to post, but If anyone who is an ex-Headstonian cares
to e-mail me, I will reveal all!

Hi Jennie, just spotted this. I was at Headstone from 1963 to 1968. The lanky PE teacher was Mr. Cleaver. I recognise the names of all of the staff you mention and some of the students. Do feel free to contact me, if you wish. Best wishes, Jim
