FFS learn how to snip. Those drinking in establishment supported by
the councils are ignored. Street drinker cause far less trouble by a
massive chalk but they don't pay business rates. Street drinkers are a
PITA but they rarely get done for drink driving which is by far the
largest criminal problem affecting Ipswich where I live. The local
government people have their own bus service and bars and of course
the much heralded university campus is a notorious drink and drug
problem. The whole dock area is often blocked by boozers at night and
worse still it is gated. Last night I encountered a man having a heart
attack of a million pound yacht, (I don't think he was drunk by the
way) and the lady with him didn't know the name of the quay they were
berthed on. She was screaming blue murder and jumping up and down in
her night wear unable to tell the phone operator where she and the
casualty were. The dock security people were nowhere to be seen and
the radio operator was distinctly unhelpful and kept the marina gates
locked. I had to steer the para-medic to the boat and then go and find
the ambulance which was also lost. The port security contracted by
Associated British Ports hadn't even seen two vehicles on the dock at
3am with blue lights flashing everywhere as they attempted to find a
route past the locked gates to the casualty. That is something the
local press will not mention as they want planning permission for a
large site they own near the dock. That is corruption in my view
allowing gates that are unlawful and keeping news gagged so nobody
discovers real problems.
