Any working class blokes here from the North of England who can play the
drums?

We're still around, we're all just waiting for Somebody Else to begin a
thread.
There again, nothing much happens down 'ere in Kairdiff nowadays.

No wonder, the bloody car parking charges are far too high now that NCP have
hiked them up to around 80p per 15 minutes (after, If I remember, charging
around £2.50 for the first hour) - and they've knocked a couple of
multi-storey car parks down to re-develop St David's Centre....
Before they whacked the car park charges up, we used to go to Cardiff quite
often shopping - not any longer. If we go there now, it to the 'big' stores
on the outskirts where the parking is free.
Rant over :-)

yeah cuz that's what we need in the city centre - more cars and more
people who drive into the city centre for half an hour's shopping??
With regards to your answer:
Shopping trips used to last around a full day.
Number of shops visited - well in excess of 30.
Cash spent - a fair bit.
Number of meals at least 2 lunches and several of the old beverages.
Visits - used to be around 4 a month.
Now I presume that as Cardiff has a large shopping area that takes in Queen
Street and St Mary's Street - along with half a dozen or so arcades (and
that's without Canton and Roath) - then those stores need empty carparks and
a dearth of people like you need a hole in the head?
As a matter of interest, for "half an hour's shopping" it wouldn't be worth
my while in time or fuel costs,
Not a "tree hugger" are you, or one of these that believe global warming is
a new found fad?
A "tree hugger" no, just a local resident who is sick of small-minded
chavs clogging up my neighbourhood streets with their filthy cars
because they are too stupid/too lazy to take the train or the bus. If
you are making an all day shopping trip then do the decent thing and use
the park-and-ride. What are you, a family of invalids or just plain
lazy? Funnily enough none of those shops or shopping centres you mention
require a car for entry, indeed the only way to enter a shop is on foot
or in a wheelchair so your car is a complete irrelevance when it comes
to shopping. Where do you people get off being lazy, stupid and selfish,
there is really no need to drive your car in when you can take a bus or
a train. If I had my way we would pedestrianise the entire city centre.
I don't suppose you actually live in Queen or St Mary's street do you?
Also I wonder if yon tree hugger actually owns a car or jealous because
he/she cannot afford one - which is it?

If we were a family "of invalids" we would be able to legally park outside
your hovel at any time - but we're not! With regards to being lazy - none
of us are on the 'dole' or benefits, can that be said of you and your
household?
Funnily enough none of those shops or shopping centres
> you mention require a car for entry,
That's correct, that's why I use my brains and park in a carpark and then
walk.

True in the case of actual shopping, but I can afford to run a car to carry
the stuff that you cannot afford home.

"Where do you people get off" - usally in a car park or on the kerb outside
your hovel!

Surely that should read "If I had my way *I*would..." but you don't have
your way do you?
Never mind little tree hugger - *IF* global warming is a reality, then the
area of Cardiff that you live in will be under water so that will resolve
your objections to private transport - and public transport as well. Dig
out the flippers you little water rat you.
