Over a thousand workers have gone on strike at four different oil refineries
as the row over jobs being given to foreign workers escalates.

"There are men here whose fathers and uncles have worked at this refinery,
built this refinery from scratch. It's outrageous."

Considering the large police presence at these peaceful strikes it is
perhaps fortunate that foreign workers are Italian and not dark skinned
people or Gordon Brown could invoke the power of his leet powerful race laws
to solve this industrial dispute at the end of a police truncheon rush.
