Anyone detained by police would be mad to say a single word when
'questioned'. Police ad Prosecution services have to prove whatever they
want to prove. If a detainee wants to reply he/she should always insist on
written questions, then review them with a lawyer and only reply in written
form. So whether police can detain someone for x number of days should make
very little difference as they would not get any more information. All this
questioning people overnight, wearing them down, confusing them etc would
become pointless if detainees adhere to this simple

Originaly they only wanted these extended detainments for terror
suspects however it seems thats now being revised and will include
'other crime suspects'
