If I feed my cat Whiskas, he behaves very oddly afterwards - rushing around
madly with wild look in his eyes, attacks the curtains, and even
occasionally attacks me. Has anybody else noticed this when their cat eats

Have you tried him on anything else? I expect the pain of having his
whiskers pulled out, then the anguish of being made to eat them, has
driven him demented. Go to the vet now, ask for a replacement and don't
pull the whiskers off of the next one... du
