I am not a meteorologist, or an lightening expert, just an interested
observer with a thirst for knowledge of the unknown.
I have a theory about lightening; As all good lightening observers and good
Meteorologist know the direction of a lightening bolt is unexplained. I
mean no one knows what the driving force is behind it, as in, why does it go
left in stead of right and visa versa?.
Well I have a thought I would like to share with you. I think that the air
is not only filled with positive at the base of the cloud and negative near
the ground, but it is filled with small pockets of suspended positive and
negative charged globules in the air. These are pulled along if you like by
up drafts/side winds etc. When the electrical change is been built by the
cloud to ground forces, I believe the direction of the lightening bolt has
already been established, and as the current leaves the ground and travels
upwards, it is attracted to these floating suspended pockets of electrical
current, and eventually reaches the base of the cloud, and then the rest is
history.
What are your thoughts on this theory?,
if you have any other theories please tell I am interested to hear your
thoughts
Also if you know of any good sites for me to visit to give other
explanation, please do
