Quick story - My mate bought a car, he had it on road for about 4
months then it got nicked, cops found it then went into the insurance
hands.. after a few days the insurance company said it were already a
insurance claim as the engine were stolen from another car but the
body wasn't stolen? (long story short) he's insurance told him
today that the police took the car and gave it back to the insurance
company that paid out the claim in the first place and he's insurance
says he is not entitled to the body back OR his own belongings out of
the car? (tools and stuff) i dont no much about the law but as far as
i'm concerned, the original claim were paid out on a stolen full car,
somewhere down the line this stolen engine ends up in a legal body..
dont have a clue if the body were ever found but doubt it.. right. i
wuld have thought that even though the body is legal and the engine is
stolen.. how can the insurance company say he's not getting the body
back..! to me thats like saying if you buy some knocked off DVDs from
a guy in a pub and you play um on your DVD player, the cops can take
your DVD player as well?
any help would be appreciated .!
