Hi all

Are there any farmers here in the west Midlands, Shropshire, Warwickshire or
Staffordshire areas that wouldn't mind me metal detecting on their land?

I have been detecting now for a number of years and have, therefore, gained
the necessary experience to pursue this hobby efficiently, respectfully and
with minimum disturbance to the land involved. I am happy to pay a fee each
time I visit if this will help in any way.

Unlike a great many detectorists, my interest in this field is fuelled
solely by a passion for history.. and there is so much of our social
heritage yet to be discovered, still lying 'under the soil' across the
Country. I have yet to find any items of potential 'historical' importance,
but all of my finds - however irrelevant - are recorded, researched and
catalogued (online) for posterity and the general interest of others.
Pictorial records of our recent finds can be viewed at the following

I am well versed with the Code of Conduct, both for the countryside and the
metal detecting fraternity and these will be strictly adhered to at all
times. Any finds made during the course of detecting are declared to the
land-owner concerned. All junk metal discovered during the course of the
visit is taken away and disposed of to avoid injuries to any livestock,
farming equipment and so forth. All holes are carefully filled in and care
taken to ensure the land looks exactly as found.

I am a trustworthy and responsible 48 year old married man with 2 children.
I live in the Walsall area, in the West Midlands, and I work at a large Law
Firm in Wolverhampton as a costs draftsperson. I can obtain a reference from
my employer to allay any fears you may have if you wish.

I look forward to receiving a response from you. Thank you for your time and
consideration regarding this matter.

Kind regards.
