Some banks are eliminating the standard interest free period within
which you may pay your credit card bill without being charged interest.
This is the normal grace period before interest kicks in.
It is recommended that you, your friends and colleagues check your
statements carefully so as to avoid and complain about such interest
charges or to seek out a card issuer that offers very low interest rates
plus
an unlimited grace period on purchases.
Be especially weary of institutions that periodically offer upgrades or
cards with no fee for the first year as a promotion as this practice is
more common with them.
Finally, don't be lulled into the seasonal promotions offering
"premium" credit cards such as "goldcards" and Premier VISA. The only
significant premium with these cards is the extra amount you pay in higher
interest and fees!

If you are in the habit of paying off the full amount every month you may be
able to set up a direct debit as I have. The credit card company
automatically take the payment on the correct date.
