A friend of mine fitted a shower rail for me but it's starting to come away,
the rawl plugs are coming out. What's the best way to secure them again? I
remember using paper but I imagine that's less than professional... :)
thanks in advance,
John
Wickes sell some circular paper disks for this purpose. You wet them then
wrap them round the rawlplug and reinsert. The paper then sets hard. Seems
to work well.
In the last house we had I supported the shower rail halfway along by
attaching a very simple screw in hook to the ceiling and dropping a length
of white plastic chain around the rail (you get it in any B&Q type place).
It does mean you need to split your curtain in two (or use two shower
curtains) but you will never have any more problems with a sagging shower
rail.

found a website for them: www.wetnfix.com
Many years ago, i used a product called Philplug Screwfix and got on well
with it. It was a fibre/powder* mix which was mixed with a little water
(usually spit) and pushed into the hole. It came complete with a metal spike
which was used to make an indent in the plug to start the screw. While
looking around the .net to see if it is still available, I found mention of
a modern version of this product. The article said it might be made by
Rawlplug but I found no mention on their site. Anyone know if it really
exists ?
* I think the mix contained asbestos which would explain its withdrawal.
