Hello,
I bought a sink and the (Atlant) kit to plumb the outlet of the
sink to the main waste pipe. The almost horizontal waste pipe is 32mm
internal bore whereas the IKEA downpipe is 32mm external bore. The net
result is that the 32mm push fit at both ends, 90 degrees connector does not
fit the IKEA end. IKEA claim that an adaptor can be purchased but a builders
merchant, B&Q and The Plum Centre do not stock them. Has anyone else had
this problem?

Cheers

Peter.

Hi,
Ikea stuff does not fit anything. If you have the waste in the sink with
the 3.5" hole, it is far less stressful to go and buy another one that has
standard fittings than try and make it fit. I advise my customers to do the
same and it saves a pile of headaches and wasted time.
Best wishes
Frank.

Hello,
Thanks for the advice. I'm finding out this to my cost. I'm
surprised that IKEA can do this and seemingly get away with it. It's not
unknown to their customer services. Incidentally, I found an old 32mm screw
fit/push fit 90 degrees bend which will actually form a watertight seal. All
I need to do now is connect a UK 32 mm downpipe and join that via a push fit
both ends 90 degrees connector. Job done!

Cheers

Peter.
