Painting Render on House

The front upstairs of my house is rendered and painted cream.
Recently I have noticed rust starting to appear through.
This is happening on the external corners to the windows and also at the
bottom of the render where there is a metal strip across the house.
I'm going to repaint but wondered how and what I should use to treat this
problem?

Whack a coat of an oil based undercoat on first (over the rust and bit extra
each side)

more drastic measures involves chipping the render of hammeriting the
surface and re rendering the work

Dulux do a range of paints specifically for sealing stains and the suchlike.
They are professional range, but a local trade paint centre to you should
carry them.
Ask there for advice

Hate to be a bit of an alarmist .... but if the metal strips around the
windows are rusting, would it be a bad idea to get them checked over by a
surveyor or ask one about them ??
