What size of masonry drill to use?

I don't use rawlplug brands but usually the plugs will have the screw
size range suitable on the pack. Different types will need different
hole sizes. I know the plasplugs I use will take an 8mm screw and
need a 10mm drill cos it tells me that on the pack. I suspect an 8mm
hole would do you. Why not try one first?
