I've got a Power Devil sander and a pressure washer. They're suprisingly
good for the price.

Cheers, just what I wanted to know. There is a special offer in my NTL
'Choices' guide for a 500w Hammer drill for £13.97 - hardly and offer to
turn down if they are any good at all.
My theory being that if it lasts just a year, it's been good value. I
paid £100 for my Bosch 12v drill, and after 18 months it had to have a
new chuck, and after three years, it needs a new battery (about 50 quid
a go). It'd be a lot cheaper to by a cheap drill every year, and bin it.

My local Taskers DIY was recently selling 7.5 volt Power Devil rechargeable
drills for £7.00. I bought three - one to keep the drill bit in, one to keep
the screwdriver bit in, and one to keep the battery charged up. Saves a lot of
time and frustration for lightweight jobs.
I also have their bandsaw and table saw. Both work fine for most DIY jobs and
have enough power to slice through sheets of ply and 2 inch thick timber.

Good idea, each drill only gets one third of the wear that way ;-)

Hmmm, that's not always the case though. I have a 300 quid Sony, that
does very well, in the same time I've chucked out 2 cheapies.

Thanks, I got a PD drill in the end (from Argos, sorry to say), the feed
back is useful though. However, they did make a tiny mistake in
packaging, and put a 710w drill into a 500w drill catalogue box :-)
Cheers.
Has anyone experience of the Power Devil router? I have one, and am finding
one specific problem, namely getting the cutter securely fixed into the
collet.
If the collet isn't really tight, then the cutter slips in use. Having had
this happen several times, my cutter shanks are getting damaged and some
have become useless in a very short time.
If I get the collet tight enough that the cutter doesn't slip, then I have
real problems in getting the cutter out after use. Even when the collet nut
is removed, the collet is so tightly wedged into its collar, that it can
take me 5 minutes of gentle persuasion before I can remove the cutter.
This can't be right! Have I a problem with the router, or am I just doing
summat wrong? The router was new this Xmas last and I'm new to this type of
tool.
Better too tight than loose: a loose router bit at 5-10,000 revs could be
lethal.
