I am an upholsterer and am cutting foam all the time, large blocks of foam
or any type of foam is not cut using anything hot, but cut using a band saw.
If you are only doing a small amount of cutting e.g your mattress the best
thing I have ever found as any electric calving knife.

Before using foam carry out a fire hazard check. Foam is OK perhaps for
camping and leisure use but I would not recommend it for everyday use. Save
or get a loan and invest in the best orthapaedic mattress available.

BTW, all domestic foam goods must now be sold with a label stating
they're fire retardant.
