Sorry probably a little off topic but I couldn't find a better newsgroup..

anyone had any experience with Tesco Car Insurance. Its a toss up between
them and Direct Line, Direct Line costs an extra £40 for the year but they
have an extremely good reputation.

Cheers

Who underights Tescos insurance, consider the excess, are windows included,
do you get a hire car, its not just down to price.

Let me tell you a story.
In 1992 A direct line insured driver smashed into my parked car a "W" reg
Renualt 20
I claimed £400 its value as it was a write off.
Direct line mucked me about with various delaying tactic's for so long so I
re-looked at my claim and found out that I had omitted to claim for out of
pocket expenses, towing charges, taxi home, hire of replacement car for a
week, legal advice and interest on the claim.

In the end I took £1800 off them.

The moral of this story is had they not tried to be obstructive in the first
place they could have settled for my original £400 and that's where your
premiums go.

When ever you ask for an insurance quote never tell them if you have a no
claim bonus just to see what the base price is for your age and area first,
tell them later.

Be sure what cover is involved, TPO, TPF&T, COMP and ask to see a policy
first and read the small print, some Comp isn't as comprehensive as others,
is windscreen cover included etc, how about roadside assistance and national
recovery?

And remember price isn't everything, after the bitterness of the price has
faded, the feel of quality remains
