Writing on behalf of a friend who has a recent model Vauxhall van that has
developed a strange noise.
The noise is a low-pitched whine from the front end, related to road speed
rather than engine speed.
It doesn't seem to be coming from a particular side (left or right front
wheel), and is most evident on a straight road at around 40mph.
Wheel bearings seem to be okay.
Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome.

Might be a bad CV joint or differential?
