18th Oct '07 I asked why tvoc.co.uk had no info/video or even photos of the
big day on the web page.

On 19th the National Daily papers had the news.

I suppose tvoc web pages eventually caught up, but my comments stirred no
other response from this group.
If that is the National enthusiasm for your project what chance do you have
of finding a Corporate sponsor?, the RAF certainly cannot afford to invest
in their own history.

You could try asking the bloke at No 10 for a hand out!!!

I noticed with some surprise that when XH558 landed at RAF Conningsby on May
9th I found no
relevent posts on this group, in spite of all the news reports and
enthusiasts flocking to witness the landing.
I think it must be the case that too few people subscribe to (or even know
about) this newsgroup.
A quick survey of friends shows that only a small proportion use newsgroups
at all and many do not actually know what they are. When some read the word
"subscription" they think it's something they have to pay for.
The ISPs could help by publicising NGs to their customers, I notice that
some of them do not provide NNTP facilities at all.
There are a lot of "dead" groups out there and it seems to be getting to a
stage where it will be a case of "Use it or lose it"

I've just started trawling the NGs again after ages away, and sad to see
that they're full of spam, and not much substance.. Think its going to
put me off TBH.
On topic - I saw the Vulcan at Leuchars airshow last weekend, and it was
amazing to see it again. Saw it at cosford in 93, ill never forget that
howl :)
