Does anyone know if there is a spectator area at heathrow?

Yes go to Queens building in the central area or you can get a good view
from car park that is connected to terminal 2
The other place is from the visitors centre on the north side of the airport

It has been closed for the past few weeks due to security reasons. It was
still shut last Sunday.

And as for Glasgow... Glasgow's viewing area has been shut for years!

The security are becoming paranoid and just completely ruling out any
possibility to keep planespotters happy. They would more than likely reduce
their security load if they:

A) Had a good viewing spot that kept EVERYONE happy and
B) Had CCTV on the viewing spot/gallery

This way they wouldn't have to patrol perimeter fences as stringently, they
would only have to closely monitor a relatively small area, and thus we
would all be happy. If only...

There is the stand at the heathrow academy
Or the renaissance hotel car park ,and the Novotel hotel on bath rd ,new indoor viewing area
