I've been monitoring this group for quite some time now, and have seen
precisely zero meaningful traffic. Hardly any spammers even seem to
bother with it. If you are reading this, and you also follow
rec.juggling, do you think you could possibly reply to this thread so I
can see if I am the only person watching this group?
As far as I know, free. groups share a liberal charter allowing all
manner of posts, unlike r.j, so why shouldn't free.rec.juggling be used
as a place to shunt stuff that shouldn't appear on r.j, like binaries,
trolling, wildly OT banter and suchlike?
Opinions, please, if there's anyone there.

I could. I only happened to spot your post so quickly through luck, but
I do pop in here very now and then just in case I'm missing something.

It's another of those difficult to draw lines - yes, maybe it'd work, but
I don't know quite how. I guess people could self moderate themselves,
and post their offtopic bits over here, but I already can't see that
working.

Hi Jay
Dunno why, but I also check this group every so often as well. Probably 'coz
I don't have a life!

Is there much call for a place to stick binaries? Most people manage to find
some webspace if they *really* want us to see their stuff. And to all the
recent whiners on r.j I say f*ck 'em. If they don't like what they're
reading why don't they just move on to the next post. As has been said over
at r.j already, people need to take a little more personal responsibility
about what they read rather than hoping that someone else will filter out
all the 'bad' stuff.
I also agree with what Dave has been saying on r.j about going there as much
for the jugglers as the juggling. Most of the actual juggling discussions
have been done to death over the years, making the 'off-topic' stuff far
more interesting and amusing than the serious juggling stuff. I know I've
only just started posting to r.j recently, but I have lurked there for
several years (I reckon at least 5), so I *think* I know what I'm talking
about!
Hope that makes some sort of sense. I've just got home from a gig and am
making good headway through a few beers, so sorry if it's complete nonsense.
How weird that Dave & I should both happen to check in here on the very same
day that someone actually bothers to post a message.
Hope to see you guys in Sheffield next week.
Jason.
ObMoney: £250 for 1 hours wallpaper juggling this evening; it's a tough job
but someone's gotta do it.

>Hi,
Perhaps if we're all really quiet, the unmentionable idiots won't notice
and come to spam this ng too. ;) Keep free.rec.juggling FREE from...
well, most everything.
