Is it too naive to hope that it is possible for the different ethnic
communities in Kosovo not only to live in peace, but to explore their
differences for mutual gain, and for the gain of the province? If ever there
was an opportunity to achieve this, it exists now at this moment, whilst the
eyes of the world are on Kosovo, and help of all descriptions is
forthcoming.

If it is not possible then I would suggest that there is no hope for this
world, and all who lost their lives on all 'sides' in the recent war and in
previous years, decades and centuries lost them in vain.

Any person who dies as a result of war dies in vain, I to would like to see
peace other there
however after killing one another for so long it would be hard to stop.
I hate war all it is, is a fight over some stupid little thing.

Not every person who dies in a war has died in vain or needlessly -To give
your life in the furtherance of a truly noble cause (if the cause is just)
must surely be the noblest way to meet a premature death.

Regarding Kosovo, much as we might like the Serb/Albanians, etc to live
together-it seems from everything that I have read/seen over the last decade
almost of Balkan wars that by far the most expedient (not the most ethical)
long term solution is for the groups to separate-it should be our goal to
ensure that this separation proceeds as peacefully as possible.

To die in a war is stupid, to die in the Balkans is even more stupid. The
war wasnt about a free contry, the war wasnt about suppression og killings
on albanians - the fights ( there where no war, the albanians ran away )
where about money and who got the right to the contry as everything else in
the last ten years on the Balkan....... if anyone part have the right to
kosovo im sure it isnt the albanians.

Former KFOR soldier
( I know what im talking about )

It is incredible to see how one sided information and reporting can
influence people. People that up to weeke ago never heard of Kosovo,
Pristina or even Albania are discusing the so called atrocities comited
agianst albanians in Kosovo. The fact that they are talking about
Albanians in Kosovo a province of today Serbia and homland of serbians
for last thausand years and not Albanianas in Albania proper sems to
pass them by. What are the Albanians doing in Serbia. Their calim to
Kosovo comes from numbers. Before the WWII Serbians wer the large
mjority in Kosovo. During the war the Albanias imediatly sided with
Germany and Italy and imediatley procided to exterminate Serbs and
other ethnic groups in Kosovo. After the war as they returned from the
German camps and the war many Serbs found Albanians leving in their
homes. At the same times the comunist government eger to create an
image of peace and prosperity placed many albanians in the government
who prevented complains by the Serbs. Records were lost or destroyed.
Thaosand of Sertbs have to abandon claim to their ancestral homes and
leave Kosovo.

When Albania become the most opresive state in Europe hundreds of
thausand of albanians moved to Yugoslavia and setled in Kosovo
displacing the Serbs by intimidations and down right murder. This in
combination with Albanians having the highest birth rate in the world
gave them majority in Kosovo. Of two milion Albanians reported by UN
almost one milion are iligal albanians from Albania itselfe. To suport
such huge increase in population in one ares forced Yugoslav government
to pas a resolution by which each Yugoslav worker had to work one day a
month for the Albanians in Kosovo. Unfortunately most of the money
ended in the hunds of criminals drug smaglers and in the hand of
Albanian government. Kosovo, rich in minerals and arable lands was the
purest in Yugoslavia as the Albanian population now a majority resisted
any modernization and integration with economy of rest of Yugoslavia.

You mentioned something about reconsiliation between ething groups in
Kosovo. I am sorry to inform you that is imposible at thi time and
under present circumstance. Some one sade that Albanians have erned
Kosovo and they should have it. That idea is wrong. Kosovo was given to
the Albanuans by Americans. Serbian casulty is not only in the dead
people and destruction of economy but more important destrucion of
character and self estime. The misinformation and fabrications of facts
by the Americans, German, Bitish and other Nato counties agains Serbia
has to be acounted for before any peace can be established in the
Balkans.
