~~~ Maritime - Sacred to their Memory ~~~
John Jefferies (JJ) was probably the only man in the world who could name
the Masters and Mariners of pre- and post- war yachting history, including
The America's Cup, and his life-long maritime collection is of utmost
historical value. Being the son of a Mariner who helped in crewing some of
the largest yachts in the world, JJ has a lifetime's yachting experience to
his credit.
Although John recently passed away his book is still available via his
website www.jjmaritime.co.uk .
The book is a Maritime history of world-famous yachts which names all the
crew members, nation-wide, who were known to JJ throughout his lifetime. It
is a tribute to the memory of the Masters, Navigators and the sailor-men of
England who made up the crewmembers. Pages of memories and anecdotes, moving
and humorous, make compelling reading, particularly to those deeply
interested in the history of yachting and seafaring.
