Installing Norton Antivirus question

Hello board, I don't know if this is the right board for this but
going to give it a go. My dad has a Dell computer and he bought a copy
of norton antivirus 2004 about two years ago,well I told him to
upgrade but he won't and he can't find the original sleeve for the CD.
So how do I go about finding that serial? Do I call the company? Or
what? I tried telling him it be more easier to buy a new copy but
stubborn man that he is he won't.
