I am trying to install Firefox 3.6.6 on Slackware 13 x86 architecture. I
looked at the prerequisites and then had to get the prerequisites for GCC
4.5.0. GCC will not compile correctly. It is giving an error that it
cannot determine a file extension in the source directory. I think at this
time I may have gotten a corrupted download as the md5 hashes didn't match
so I will try and download that again! :)

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Also if someone knows a
better way to install Firefox 3.6.6 I would appreciate the help.

Thank You!

Firefox 3.6.6 _is_ available under the "patches/packages" tree for
all 13.x versions on your favorite Slackware mirror:
8631948 Jun 27 16:57 13.0/patches/packages/mozilla-firefox-3.6.6-i686-1.txz
9515244 Jun 27 16:40 13.0_64/patches/packages/mozilla-firefox-3.6.6-x86_64-1_slack13.0.txz
8631948 Jun 27 16:57 13.1/patches/packages/mozilla-firefox-3.6.6-i686-1.txz
9490588 Jun 27 17:14 13.1_64/patches/packages/mozilla-firefox-3.6.6-x86_64-1_slack13.1.txz
so no need to compile anything at all.

You can just install it with "installpkg" or upgrade the older version
with "upgradepkg", Pat did all the hard work already!
Just installed it last sunday myself (it was just out then).

Thank You! I did get it working by installing frome the source code or the
Mozilla.1.9.2. I had to use an option with the ./configure to disable
libnotify and I googled the proper entries for the .mozilla config file. I
also updated my libc before trying to install again!

Once again thank you for your help and I hope that these messages will help
anyone out there who would like to get the new and EPIC firefox.3.6.6!
