alcune frasi

Salve a tutti, sto traducendo con degli amici un videogioco in
italiano, ma ci sono alcune frasi che mi risultano poco chiare:

1)A bolt out of the blue: un fulmine a ciel sereno?

2) The magistrate is quite frankly someone $CHARACTERNAME$ simply
cannot stand. So the obvious answer here to try and get that job

Qui non capisco proprio, sembra che manchi proprio il verbo: il
magistrato sta...? Oppure intende "il magistrato è franco: qualcuno
(nome) semplicemente non può stare (è di troppo?). Così l'ovvia
risposta è provare e ottenere quel lavoro" (?)

3) It appears $FROM$ takes his vendettas very seriously. In fact
having paid the government a small bribe from some of your time he has
demanded his rival’s job.

Non riesco a capire il senso di "from some of your time", ma in
inglese vendetta si dice vendetta?
