I bought an HP Ipaq 1950 a little over three months ago from Staples. I have
used it only a few times to access the internet for email. Last week I
turned it on and only got green and black lines on the screen.
I took it back to Staples only to be informed that it was not their problem.
They only accept returns for 14 days regardless of what the problem is.
I contacted HP Support who informs me that it is not a model 1950 which had
a one year warranty but a model 1955 which only carries a 90 day warranty.
Like anyone would be stupid enough to buy a $ 300.00 item with a 90 day
warranty. They said there was supposed to be a sticker on the outside of the
box which explained the 90 day warranty. THERE WAS NO STICKER and the sign
at Staples STILL says one year limited warranty.
HP graciously offered to repair the problem at a cost of around $ 200.00. By
the way, they have never seen it or inspected it but they seem to know what
is wrong with it.
I told them I would rather throw it away.
Just needed to blow off a little steam and warn everone to stay away from
this HP Junk.

I suggest you file a complaint with your state Attorney General, Office of
Consumer Protection. You can usually download the required form off of the
Internet. I bet Staples will trip over themselves to get you a new computer.
Try it. There is nothing to lose. I have used this method several times and
when these outfits get a letter from the AG's office (which, by law, they
are required to answer) they jump. Good luck.
