Closing PayPal Account ORDEAL

Hi,
For two days, I have been trying to close my PayPal
account. There is NO money left in my "Wallet".
Every time I try to close it on line, I am directed to
contact tech support. I was told there was a problem,
but it should be closed in a little while.
Has anyone else have this problem?

I was finally able to CLOSE my PayPal account
near the end of March.
