WTD any Cubase DEF.ARR

Hi

Having a lot of hassles with my PC/Cubase 3.7 and/or 5.1 VST setups
that thought, maybe someone has a solid setup saved as a Def.arr that
would help me figure out why the hell I can only record Midi data in
and although apparently shown as transmitted, not being received at
the synth...?

My setup:

Thinkpad 760ED with Midi/joystick interfacecable W98SE
Cubase 3.7 VST (I have a copy 5.1 but a bit too resource hungry for my
old PC)
Alpha Juno synth keyboard
MT32 module
JV-1080 Module

I only need to Midi to these external devices for time being, so no
AUDIO/VST devices loaded.
