Next week, I'm planning on going to the San Diego Wild Animal Park or Sea
World and continuing the adventure of taking these pictures and providing
them on the web. Enjoy.
God bless,

Each photo is on its own page, I see.
Still all about the numbers and artificially inflating those hit
counts, eh, Jason?
Tell me, Jason, if we look at each photo and it takes us to a separate
page that also has all of those ads for phone cards and such, do you
get paid simply for click-throughs?
Is this just another ploy to bilk readers or, at least, your
advertising "clients?"

And now you're into actually ANNOUNCING that you're going to do these
things.
Jason, people like you make me curious.
How is it that one who has so little cause to have much of an ego can
have such a TREMENDOUS ego?

Jason, just as a matter of interest, setting the animals aside for a
moment, lets concentrate on the staff numbers at these places. How many
people does it take to look after the animals? I'm guessing more than
eight, but you never know, if it is more than eight how does it sit with
you?

Thanks for the heads-up, David. I won't be heading over there anytime
soon.
How are things with you? I miss you around here, you know.
Chris
Jason is trying to drive traffic to his site. He is probably paid on
click-throughs.

Since David is a (retired) lawyer with an interest in Jason's
shenanigans, I'd like to ask a legal question: are there any
implications of in effect using the name of an attraction (the SD Zoo)
and photos taken there (even if you took them yourself) to promote one's
own commercial enterprise? (The answer could very well be No, but it
looks sort of borderline to me).
Also:
I didn't look at more than about three pix, but I note that some of them
are of poor quality; eg. glass-glare in the reptile house. I've taken
lots of pictures like that myself -- but they're generally not the ones
I choose to post publicly.

No, there is no violation here that immediately comes to mind. It
isn't uncommon for commercial enterprises - or non-profits - to be even
more explicit in the use of these things than Jason has been.

Yes, Jason has shown yet another area in which he lacks talent - animal
and nature photography.
Well, thank you, Chris.
I now split my retirement between Poland and Israel. I still connect
through a high speed connection location in California - it's easy with
a remote access and something called a "virtual desktop."
Plus I don't get charged for it.
Now, to be sure, I don't know that clicking on Jason's pictures gives
him credits on those phone card ads that we see on each of the picture
pages, but I'm told it's POSSIBLE. So, because it's Jason, I'm
thinking it's LIKELY.
One thing that I DO know is that, for Jason, these things are all about
numbers and hits. That could be one reason that he decided to put each
picture on a separate page and didn't bother to create a clickable
contact sheet or whatever they call it, with thumbnails and such.
One of my partners in the Watch has a less charitable view. He thinks
Jason's incompetent at this sort of thing.
My guess is that, actually, it's a bit of both.

Well he won't get many people browsing his image collection, but perhaps
that's the intent. (I.e. not inflating the hit counts, but increasing
the search engine footprint.) He hasn't even bothered - sample of one -
to compress the JPEGs. (You can cut them down to 10%-20% of the
uncompressed size with negligible loss of quality.)

It's sad that people can whine and complain about having free, beautiful
pictures of the animals that God created. These complainers must complain
when they get a raise at work and when their kids tell them that they love
them.
Regards,
Jason
But Jason, they aren't complaining about the pictures (though their
poor quality has attracted some comment). They are asking you questions
you don't want to answer, and you are the one who is moaning.
RF
Funny how "free" is the first thing you choose to mention, Jason.
That might indicate that the pictures ARE bait, after all.
DO YOU get paid whenever someone clicks on a page that has the ads on
it?
> beautiful
> pictures of the animals that God created.
Notice - "beautiful pictures of the animals," NOT "pictures of the
beautiful animals."
You seem to be a bit put off because YOUR, eh, "photographic" skills
haven't exactly set the house on fire.

Well, this is yet another, rather bizarre association that you want to
make, Jason.
But please! DO whine on!
Never underestimate your entertainment value, Jason.
< snip >
Jason, are you REALLY so arrogant as to presume that YOU posting a
series of pictures of caged animals equates to those things?
C'mon! Admit it! You did it to boost your hit count on the site(s),
and maybe even get credit because EACH OF THOSE SITES THAT HOSTS A
PICTURE HAS ADVERTISING.
You also did it as a way to increase the actual number of "pages" at
JCSM.
Right?
This was a fair question, Jason.
Why didn't you answer it?
