Painter tops are the inspiration of Super Spinner Mike Painter. They
are tops for right hand and left handed top spinners. The red one is
for right handed people and the blue one is for left handed people.
The red top when spun with the right hand will spin one way and the
blue top when spun with the left hand will spin the other way.
The scientific principals are rather complicated; too complicated to
explain in this short post (complicated mathematical equations and
stuff like that can't be expressed well in text posts) and I am busy
doing other things. If you have questions Mike can spin you an
answer; right or left. In addition to the scientific stuff there is
also something special inside each top (the red one which always spins
right tells the truth and the blue one that always spins left tells a
lie.)
Disclaimer. Inventor is not responsible for what happens if top is
spun by the wrong hand. Inventor is also not responsible for how men
use it too woo women. Inventor advises all fathers to warn daughters
that all men are liars and to watch out for red and blue tops.
If you want to market the product and have some money I am willing to
sell cheap.

Mike must really be making some obvious points against your assertions
for you to need to (attempt to) undermine his credibility. What has he
got you on the run from?
I explained to him that the tops could be interchanged and would spin either
way.
The basic problem is that I want him to read books and learn. As Friedman
said "In the pursuit of the truth, you're supposed to address the other
guys' arguments and evidence. When people don't even mention that evidence
and those arguments, and then just claim that the hypothesis has been
disproven, that tells you something about the weakness of their position."
He doesn't even know what the other guys arguments are much less have any
ability to answer them.
He feels his limited knowledge is greater than over 100 years of scholarship
by thousands of people.
Grinder,
I'm not trying to undermine Mike'c credibility. It's just a joke.
Don't you get it? "Red," "blue" and "Painter". It is a joke about
scientific theory. Hold a top in each hand. Spin both at the same
time. What happens? The different positions of the thumbs cause
motion in different dirrections.

Where's your response? I posted the thing three time before it showed
up on the news server. I know the tops can be interchanged. That's
why the joke is so brilliant. Don't you get it "red" "blue"
"Painter".
I was sitting here wirling a pen with my right hand. It spun to the
right. I switched hands and it spun to the left. Then I thought
about kids tops, then painting them different colors, and then your
name. Then scientific theory, etc. Don't you get it? The reason
they spin different ways is because the thumbs are in different
locations on the two hands.
It as a joke Mike. You are too serious. I think it is hilarious.

What's Friedman and that stuff got to to do with my tops? He wrote
some books about religion. Religion has nothing to do with my tops.

I just don't have it in me to explain and I don't think you would
understand.
Especially if you are just now noticing that tops, twirled in the hand, in a
"normal" manner spin in opposite directions. And if you believe that "the
thumbs are in different locations on the two hands." I'd suggest you look
again.
Mike,
Why must I always have to explain scientific stuff to you? Put your
hands in front of you. Your right thumb is on the left side of your
right hand and your left thumb is on the right side of the left hand.
If you put a pencil between your right hand thumb and pointing finger
and roll your thumb forward the pencil will turn one way. If you do
with the other hand it will turn the other way.
I just cannot understand why you are playing down this important
scientific discovery. Be honest, how many big time scientists can
you name that came up with this form of science? It is called
thumbology topology. What do you want to bet that in a few years some
scientist will use my research to figure out some new form of space
travel or maybe how to reverse black holes or stop the earth from
spinning. Maybe they will use it in a script for Stargate SG1 or
Stargate Atlantis.
As soon as I get some tops I will test my hypothesis. It works with
pencils and I theorize that it will work with tops, too. I might put
magnets in them to see what effect that would have.

Your idea of right and left is dependant on the position the hand is in
relative to your body and in the standard anatomy position it is on the
right side of your right hand and the left side of your left hand.
The thumb on both hands is lateral to the hand and at the distal end of the
Radius bone.
You should note but probably have to have it explained that there is no need
for relative terms such as "right" and "left"
You can no more explain science than you can explain the bible.

And if you roll it backwards it will roll the other way.
Little kids figure this out, why are you just now noticing it?

If you actually knew any science your attempt at humor might work.
It's why educated people laugh when I tell them a topologist is somebody who
does not know the difference between a coffee cup and a doughnut.
So, what you did was hold your hands palms up so that the thumbs would
point outward. But how did you spin a pencil with your palms upward.
Us normal people would extend our hands palm down to spin a pencil.
In that case the right thumb would be on the left side of the right
hand and the left thumb would be on the right side of the left hand.
Let's get something straight. I admit that my antigrav machine kept
dumping me on my head, and that my transporter machine kept sending me
to the wrong places, and that my time machine could only take me one
second forward or one second backward; but this invention works and is
a good one.

It's not an invention, it is at best an observation which children usually
make.
Why are you just now doing so.
However you are the one who now claims it is an invention, rather than an
attempt at humor.
I's suggest reading "The Chinese Pilot" by Tolstoy. It fits exactly with the
kind of ignornace you have.
Incidently, if you can't spin a pencil without holding your hands in any
position or spinning it in either direction, your manual dexterity matches
your apparent age.
I've got a nickel that says you didn't get my joke and are afraid to ask
because it might make you look bad.
I've got a dime that says you might not get it even if it is explained to
you.
You remind me of the kid in basic training who got mad at us because we were
using words he did not understand and assumed were bad.
Well at least you know how to spell humor. It's kind of an invention.
Spinning and tops have been around for a long time; but I think the
red and blue and right and left labels for them are unique. What if I
put magnets in them?
I can also claim it was very funny because it was funny to me. Too
bad you only know how to spell humor.

It wasn't in the list.

Like I'd be worried about what I look like. Not.
I can understand that as you get older it might be more difficult to
manipulate things with your fingers; especially since I have arthritus
in my hands which makes it difficult to pick up small things when I
get up in the morning.

Some things are possible.

You still holding that against me?

Hard to believe but there are other books beside the bible and as the site
says, it's better with a book.

Yet you avoid the joke.

Certainly. I could find a winning lottery ticket but that verges on the
impossible.

If that was you, you haven't changed much.
