Did Jesus Christ go to Hell after he died?

baffled me. I looked at 3 commentaries which included the LANTC, the
BKC, and the IVP NT Commentary Series and none explained the verse in
question. So in response today I made a call to a Bible Talk show.

The word "as" tells you that Jesus was using a Simile, a comparison by
resemblance - a figure of speech. Then he refered to Himself as the
Son of man (Adam) referring to his body and soul. When Jesus died his
body and soul died but his spirit was comitted to God. Remember, too,
that the word "hell" more often than not is the translation of the
Greek "hades" which is the word that means "gravedom" the state of the
dead.
I listened to some of what Hank said and I think he told you something
similar to what I just said. With regard to your question about
paradise; paradise is not heaven but is always a place on the earth
every time it is used in the Bible. Souls do not go to heaven or
paradise - spirit does else why would people need to gain spirit. Our
future bodies will be like Jesus' resurrected body; flesh and bone
animated by spirit not flesh and blood animated by soul.

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see;
for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Ephesians 5:30 KJV
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Do you see that it says flesh and bones and not flesh and blood?
That's because that which animates the new body is not blood based but
spirit based. Spirit replaces blood. Jesus Christ shed all of His
blood to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our blood contains the
sin nature. Our spirit is the new nature the eternal nature that is
our new life.
