Lydia Dustbin asked if there are any Shedi of her era still standing.
I've mentioned Rusty, KMJ and Andy Burns; are there any others
around who might remember her?

Any fraternal greetings will be gladly conveyed.

A select group. If she would rejoin us, I'm sure a comfy BC cement bag and
a nicecupoftea could be provided. And if you could stop pointing yer beak
in the air as the political chat has gone away for a bit. Gorn, we need
all the support we can get these days, Truss me.

I don't think Lydia does Usenet anymore, her health is rather poor and
even email on her Kindle seems to be a trial for her.

Hmm, me return to the Shed? I feel I've left the Shed way behind me
(or maybe the Shed left me...) Perhaps I might have a little lurk some
time. You could pass on a cheery wave of the wing for me, though.

[thinks]
I suppose I could xpoast this to the Shed; I expect it could get there

I remember her, so its not that long ago.
Most of the world seems to think Usenet is dead. They have kind of
reinvented it I notice. Its called Mastodon.

It seems that only a tiny subsection of the Shed remembers
Lydia, so I'll relay your greetings and let sleeping sheds lie,
I think.

It was nice to see those of you who joined this thread;
hail and farewell, see you elsewhere.

Mastodon may be a decentralised version of twitter, can't see how it's a

Hi, Jon, how nice to see you again after all these years.
I will certainly pass on your greeting to Ms Lydia Dustbin;
I'm sure she will be pleased to hear from an old friend.

If you're still in touch with any Shedi from the days of yore,
please pass on my own greetings to them. [cheery wave]

so was it radiocarbon dating, potassium–argon dating and uranium–lead

Ayup, Tone; Gordon is being a bit coy lately. Mrs S had a brief visit
to the Island recently and she's brought back a potential girlfriend
for him, Isla White. I think he's just a little bit shy and doesn't
want to reveal too much at this early stage in what might be a troo
romance....

Anyroadup, I've just resubbed to Ye Shedde for a short sojourn in
hopes that a few more old faces might turn up. I do hope so; there
are times when I quite miss the old place, haven of genteel daftness
that it is.
