Happy new Month!
Sorry, I've been pre-drinking. Maybe I'll have a pint of TOP.

Evening. Pint of the same please. I was just thinking after work on a Friday
I used to stop in at the pub in Harrogate on the way home and have several.
Realised that would be in 1996 if not earlier. Where has the time gone?

Just noticed my headers seem to be beer related at present, not sure when I
did that. Saturday tomorrow, beer o'clock now, what can go wrong?

I don't think I've ever had a beer in Harrogate; was it ... expensive?

Dunno. Wake me up on Sunday.

Long covid's shotmy taste-buds to shreds. I have a choice of Laphroaig,
Tamnavulin,
pale cream sherry, Amontillado, Taylor's Late Bottled Port or my own
faux port.

None appeals :-(

Even tea tastes UAB: sorry flocks, I'll pass and just enjoy the craic.

Good ol' Snozzle, Proper Job in bottle. it's quite a bit stronger than
draught and hoppy as a very hoppy thing. It's my current favourite
by a long chalk. It's still real live beer, bottle conditioned, pour
with care.

Speaking of chalk, we could do with a volunteer for chalking.
Anybody else for darts? Step up and toe the oche.

Dang! That's a fate worse than dearth (of tipple) for a toper.

Half a trouser*

I poured a small sherry last night, and most of it is still in the
glass, sensitively covered for later inoculation with Bacardi and mango
juice.

*trew, very trew.

Must be Saturday by now! I've been known to "play" darts. Met a good few
folks who you wouldn't trust with a fiver as they appear not to be able to
count, but can calculate darts finishes without appearing to think.

I did slip up slightly when trying to work through a maths problem with my
9 year old nephew, as he hadn't realised treble 17 is 51. Or apparently
played darts. Having a 6 year old brother and responsible parents I can
now see the logic of NOT having darts.

Hoping work tomorrow finishes early enough for a pint or two. Might seek
out some Proper Job.

[checks watch] Yep, you're OK, Mr G, it's half past Saturday already,
although you've missed half a day's drinking. To make up for that
unconscionable slackness I suggest that you drink two at a time until
you've caught up.

So long as you can [ahem] count well enough to make sure that the pub's
team wins the match against the Cat & Fiddle, you'll do.

A Good Plan, there's no denying that.

I found a lovely darts set in a garage/caff shop in that Suffolk, but it
was spoken-for, and fresh stock was made of unobtanium - it just
appealed to my warped sense of humour: it consisted of three darts, a
puncture repair tin, a stick of chalk, a piece of matt-black plywood,
and an inflatable plastic dartboard.

Ah, is it beer o'clock again? Or cider time? I'll be partaking of something a
little later. Been an odd week.

Cider, at 6.8% it warms the ears nicely ...

Is it one for the fridge or better kept and consumed at ambient temperature?
M'colleague still insists on putting fine tasting ales in his fridge, ruining
the taste as far as I am concerned!

Chilled to my liking

I've been guilty of doing that, but some folks do seem to keep real ales
in a dedicated beer fridge ...

Quite.

Recently I have been mostly drinking Elland 1872 Porter.
