I appear to have volunteered to change a friends megane cam belt, luckily
before it has snapped!!
Anyway, I understand it is advisable to change water pump, tensioners and
auxilliary belt at the same time but is the cam locking tool essential? I
have changed the belt on a twincam GM Corsa and managed to cob up a piece of
mild steel with some holes drilled into it - can that work again for the
Megane set-up; as a DIY "mechanic" I can't really justify 50 for a tool
I'll probably only use once.
Anybody out there that has done the job on a budget, could you share any
experiences please?
Any help gratefully received
Cheers
Dave
