I have owned it from 1 yr old and do mainly motorway miles. She is
regularly serviced by CPR in Rugby who are not main agents but are
Citroen specialists. I also change the oil between services.
CPR are stumped as to the low MPG. Any suggestions please?
If there are no other symptoms a fuel leak is possible.
I had a car once that had a leaky injector return pipe which
was almost unnoticeable but droppped the mpg.
Is it all OK otherwise? No smoke, power OK etc?

Dear Tony
Thanks for your reply. No, no smoke, but yes a drop in power,
particularly acceleration. Any way of detecting a fuel leak?

You may want to investigate the vacuum pump and assorted circuitry.
I had a 2.0 HDI Peugeot that used vacuum to regulate the turbocharger.
I'd guess the 2.2's hardware looks similar.

Thanks Marc
If it's losing power it's unlikely to be just a simple return pipe leak I'm
afraid.
I think you parobably need a garage now, unless it's a turbo pipe leak which
you may hear as a hissing noise. On the Landrover diesels this problem
was sometimes caused by the turbo hoses collapsing internally so it could
just be worth
taking them off for a look.
Could be a blocked or very dirty intercooler too, you may be able to take
that off for a look
and flush out. Don't clean it with petrol. ;-)

Good point - also could the turbo wastegate be jammed open?

Thanks for these suggestions
