Hi all,

About myself:

Younger, I was a windsurf competitor and I kitesurf as a hobby.

I studied electrical engineering at Supélec (France) and aeronautics at
Imperial College (London).

I was working at Sirehna (now part of DCNS, French naval shipyard).
My work was modeling and simulating ships (using Matlab and Simulink), then
designing command laws to control them (autopilot, roll stabilisation,
dynamic positioning) and testing in basin or at sea.
I am currently taking a one year leave entrepreneur. I was first interested
by ship traction by kite, but I gained interest in Airborne Wind energy. I
have launched a blog on the subject http://robokite.blogspot.fr/ and I am
developing an open source prototype
https://github.com/baptistelabat/robokite

I am interested by open source software (replacing Matlab by Python as my everyday tool) and
open hardware communities (Fablab).

I would like to help adding a webgl visualization in the browser for the
simulator.

Dear Babtiste,

webgl visualization would definitly be very useful. If we would have a full webgl user interface,
than the  simulator could be used by students without them having to install anything on
their computer.

One question:
Do you want to use web-sockets for the communication between the simulator core (the
physics engine) and the client, that is running in the browser?

Best regards:

Uwe

Hi,

Yes websocket is the technical solution I have tried in some
tests<https://github.com/baptistelabat/robokite/blob/master/ManMachineInterface/3D/webGLDemo/serverMobile.py>so
far.
I am using python tornado server which can handle them. The client side is
javascript and quite straight forward in modern browser.
