A new prospective volunteer, Nick Nolan, contacted Free Geek PVD and was happy to hear about the Boston movement since he lives in Merrimac, MA.  He'll be joining us on the 15th at the Liberty Hotel.

I am now connected to the group, able to receive and respond to
messages.
I am a debian meta-package stability tester. I also write a lot of
edits to udev rules. and do some scripting in sh and python.
My latest endeavor has been a perl/tk script that I adopted and have
been making large changes to. It's a good learning experience(I havn't
worked with perl in a long time so lets see what kind of mess i can
make out of this).

Other notes; I'm 5 years prior service in the Vermont Army National
Guard, with a 1 year deployment to Afghanistan as a cook, scout,
personal security, contract coordinator, assistant project manager...
not all at once for most of those. I spent time in Ghazni, Bagrham,
Gardez, and Bamyan provinces.

Other than Linux and networking, perhaps we can work with some of my
military connections. One source, Family Readyness, and the veterans
reps for the areas of Andover, Lawerence and Merrimac are all Military
support groups that We might be able to build a partinership with.
This would take take some human networking on my part, but it's just a
projected idea.

what else might I be able to help with?
