Coming off a really successful event, I want to keep momentum going
for this group. Next Wednesday at 7pm we'll be having our monthly
meeting at Cosi. The address is:

290 Main St
Cambridge, MA 02142

We try to meet up every final Wednesday at 7pm.

For this next meeting I hope to discuss:
- Finalize Naming for our group
- Plan out our next steps (example: future events & initiatives)
- See about how others can help out growing our group

Hope to see everyone there!

Hey guys,
I'm interesting in getting this going for real. Now that I've graduated,
I have a lot of time on my hands. I'm currently looking at possible
grants.
Have we contacted the mothership in Chicago yet?

Max,
Lot's has happened, but the gist of it is FreeGeek can't handle new chapters for the moment and don't want non-freegeek like groups using their name. A few  of us up here got together and formed Rebooters (www.rebooters.org) to function similar to FreeGeek.  At the moment we've had 2 recycling pickups and are working with 2 other non-profit groups to coordinate a large shipment of systems from a business to needy hands...  Currently, it's just myself and a few friends helping out on & off.

Would be great to meet up again sometime and get you involved if you're still interested.

We don't have regular meetings... it's pretty loose at the moment.  The next project (which I mentioned below) is first week of August.  We don't use this google group anymore, but I'll CC you in regarding our current project an we can chat sometime about next steps.

Good to hear from you.  I haven't stayed involved with Ray's work, although I heartily endorse it.  I'm still very involved with Free Geek in Providence.

You might like to know we're having a recycling event on July 30 and volunteers are welcome if they can make it down here.

Neutaconkanut Recreation Center
675 Plainfield Street
Providence, RI 02909

Monday July 30, 2012 from 3-6pm

We've partnered with Green Penguin and EcoRI to start offering regular recycling at the farmers' markets.  We could potentially hold recycling events every day of the summer if we could organize the volunteers.

Again, happy to hear from you and hope you can organize something up in Boston - very much needed.

Thanks,
Sara
