Eric Volz case reaches new critical point

Dear Friends and Supporters,
It's been a year and a half since I was released from wrongful imprisonment in Nicaragua, and I want to again thank you for your support during this ordeal. Your decision to speak out in my defense was key in obtaining my freedom and was nothing less than a display of courage - particularly given the current political climate.
But there is more work to do. There is a strong effort by the Sandinista controlled courts to reinstate a guilty verdict and 30-year sentence. In the fight to clear my name, I filed an emergency petition today with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) against the Republic of Nicaragua. The lawsuit seeks to shed light on Nicaragua’s corrupt judicial system as well as to reverse the nearly three years of human rights violations against me.
