On Saturday 19 May from 10am to 5pm Free Debate will be running a
public speaking workshop for young people from an Arabic-speaking
background.
There will be about 25 participants, aged 15-24. From our previous
experience, this will be a mix of young men and women.
This is part of a larger leadership program run by Victorian Arabic
Social Services with the co-operation of emergency services.
Participants have been asked to prepare a short argumentative talk on
a topic related to their sessions with the emergency services people -
for example:
- It should if be compulsory for everyone to learn first aid
- The system is failing to protect society from violence
- All criminals should go to jail
We will need a minimum of 4 trainers, who will be supported by a lead
trainer (probably Kim). This is a great chance for old and new
members to get involved with a really great organisation doing very
good work.
Please let me know if you would like to be part of the team.
Best, Kim
I would like to be involved but I'm guessing that you've already got a
lot of people interested. Please let me know.
Cheers Alex
