Hey there FreeDebaters!

We are currently working with the Oaktree Foundation to provide
presentation and public speaking training for their new recruits who
will soon be heading out to give talks to schools as part of their
Oaktree Interaction program. I've included a brief description of
that program below.

We're looking for a couple of members to assist with this training.
In particular, it would great to have at least one of our new members
involved.

You would need to be available next Wed 18 April from 7pm, and
potentially again the evening of Fri 27 April (though there is
potentially scope to change this 2nd date if it doesn't suit us). We
will probably also want to meet in person to plan for the session/s.
The training will be at Oaktree's office at 609 Camberwell Rd,
Camberwell.

Please email me at bekh...@gmail.com and cc: freed...@gmail.com if
you're interested in taking part.

Kind regards,

Bek.

::Brief Information on Oaktree Interaction::

Oaktree Interaction is an educational initiative of the Oaktree
Foundation that focuses on taking the highly relevant issues of
poverty, aid and development to schools, universities, churches, and
corporations. Its aims are three-fold:

1. Increase the awareness and understanding of issues surrounding
poverty, aid and development.
2. Instil a belief that these issues can be addressed.
3. Encourage the engagement required for individuals to create change

These aims are achieved by presenting creative workshop modules to
groups of 20-40 participants. Modules are designed to engage
individuals through the use of physical role-plays and hypothetical
examples, allowing them to create a better understanding of complex
issues. Materials such as DVDs, images, sounds and case studies from
Oaktree Foundation projects are commonly used to encourage participant
response and action.
