Uganda Game, Gorilla and Primate Tour
Visit the various national parks and see gorillas monkeys of different
types, chimpanzees, elephants, rhinos, leopards, hippopotamus,
giraffes, lions and more
Day 1: Arrival
Our company guide will welcome you to the Uganda at the air port and
take you to your hotel. There he will brief you on the tour your about
to take. Rest, have dinner and over at Humurah hotel / Holiday Express
Hotel.
Day 2: To Murchison Falls National Park
You will be picked from your hotel in Kampala and driven to Murchison
Falls National Park via Masindi, the drive goes for 90 kms before you
reach the park. Check in, have lunch, before you proceed to the top of
the falls. Dinner and over night. Accommodation: Red chills Camp /
Sambiya River Lodge / Paraa Lodge or Nile Safari camp.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park
You will wake up very early in the morning for an early morning game
drive along the northern bank of the river Nile. Depending on where
you slept, you will cross the river on the ferry for this drive to
search for the early risers like the Lions, Giraffes, Hyenas, bush
bucks and waterbucks among others. Return to the lodge for your
breakfast and relax around your camp as you wait for lunch. After
lunch go for a launch cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls.
You will catch sight of Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and
many birds. Then you will be transferred back to the pier then to the
lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale
To shorten the distance from Murchison falls To Kibale, you will pass
via the Albertine rift and transfer to Hoima for a night at Kolping
Hotel. You will tour the area before dinner and over night at Kolping
Hotel Hoima.
Day 5: To Kibale Forest National Park
Early morning transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. In the
afternoon, you will tour the crater lakes region before you check in.
This ideal spot is famous for the frogs, at night they will give a
beautiful concert. Dinner and over night at camping or simple hut/
Primate Safaris, Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Ndali Lodge
Day 6: Chimpanzee and a Nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp.
Assemble at Kanyankyu tourist centre from where you will start 4 hours
primates walk. The park harbors over 10 primates’ species including
Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Red tailed monkeys, black and
white colobus monkeys among others, many butterflies and birds. Return
for lunch and in the afternoon go for a swamp walk through Bigodi
Swamp a community run initiative aimed at conserving the unique
biodiversity and environmental values of the wetland. Return for
dinner and over night at your camp or lodge.
Day 7: To Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have breakfast, head for Queen Elizabeth national park Via Fort Portal
you will reach at midday. Check in, have lunch and then go for drive
to the salt lake. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Lodge or Jacana Lodge/
Basic institute of Ecology also known as Albertine River Camp.
Day 8: In Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have a cup of coffee, then an early morning game drive on the plains
of Queen Elizabeth national park catching sight of the amazing Ugandan
Kobs, lions, leopard, elephants etc. Return to the lodge for breakfast
and then relax at the lodge. In the afternoon, go for a two hours
launch cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will see all the
animals ranging from hippopotamus on the waterside to birds flying
over the water. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge.
Have breakfast then proceed to Kyambura Gorge. Enjoy the walk while
tracking the chimpanzees. You will have lunch at Jacana Safari Lodge
and then continue to Maramagambo Forest. Set out for a nature walk in
Maramagambo Forest. This is one of Uganda’s largest tracts of tropical
rain forests notable for its primates and Avian species. Guaranteed
sights range from the Bats cave to pythons, the Copper rich blue lake
which according to Myths is known to have drowned an elephant yet it
isn’t very deep and its from this story that it gets its name
Kimeranjojo. After the forest walk you will be driven to Ishasha
Sector for a game drive in search for tree climbing lions. Dinner and
over night at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Day 10: To Bwindi
Have breakfast and leave Queen Elizabeth for Bwindi, the road takes
you to the top of the Western Rift Valley. A magnificent view on a
clear day of Lake Edward, the Hills of Congo, Queen Elizabeth, the
snow capped Ruwenzori Mountains (5100m), Lake George and Kazinga
Channel. We proceed to Bwindi via Ishasha sector. We pass mountains,
hills and lakes with cultivated terraces and tropical rainforest.
Dinner and over night at Buhoma Community Bandas/ Bwindi View Bandas/
Gorilla Resort Camp, Mantana Tented Camp or Buhoma Homestead.
Day 11: Transfer to Kinigi
Have breakfast, Drive through Kisoro, Kabale, and the then proceed
westwards to Rwanda Cross the border after clearing up your visa
requirements and then drive through Ruhengeri to Kinigi for your
dinner and over night at High end Mt Gorilla Nest Camp/ For Volcanoes
Lodge /Basic Kinigi guest House.
Day 12: Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda- Transfer to Kabale
Take an early cup of coffee with your packed lunch and the necessary
tracking gear you will assemble at the ORTPN offices for a briefing
that prepares you for gorilla tracking. Your ranger guide will take
you through thick vegetation on a 1-7 hour trail, when you finally
meet the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them and return to
Gorilla Nest Hotel for freshening up before you will be transferred to
Kabale for dinner and over night at Habuharo Tented camps for Luxury/
Arcadia Cottages for mid range
Day 13: To L. Mburo National Park
Head for Lake Mburo after breakfast and on arrival go for a game
drive. You will see animals like impalas, eland one of the biggest
antelopes, waterbuck, klipspringer, zebra, buffalo, Hippos and
crocodiles. Have lunch and then in the afternoon, you will go for a
boat ride on Lake Mburo. Return to the camp, have the evening at
leisure. Dinner and overnight at upgrade-Mihingo Lodge/ Mantana luxury
tented camps/ Rwonyo Rest Camp.
Day 14: Transfer from L.Mburo National Park to Jinja
Go for an early morning game drive in search for impalas, eland one of
the biggest antelopes, waterbuck, klipspringer, zebra, buffalo and
many others. Transfer to Kampala from where you will proceed to Jinja
for your dinner and overnight at Gately on the Nile High end /
Kingfisher resort for basic.
Day 15: Transfer from Jinja to Mbale
Have breakfast and visit the source of the Nile from where you will go
and also visit the Bujagali falls. Have a picnic lunch and then
proceed to Mbale for dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort Hotel/ Wash
and Wills.
Day 16: Sipi Falls
Proceed via Sironko to Visit the Sipi falls and then watch the
circumcision ceremony of the Gisu then have Lunch. Return to Kampala
then To Entebbe for Dinner and over night at the Boma Guest House/
Botanical Beach hotel.
Day 17: Ngamba Island
Go for an early morning chimpanzee viewing at Ngamba Island. You will
be transferred by boat from the mainland to the island. On arrival,
you will view chimpanzees feeding, grooming, etc. From here, you will
proceed to the airport for your flight back home
