Also, in a semi-related note: I think we can all agree that our attendance at the social functions related to this league have been abysmal. I hope we can all make an effort to not only make our presence known at the larger events, but at the Thursday night post-game festivities as well.

Thank you for playing with GO Kickball in Dallas!  Here are some important announcements:

***REFEREE TRAINING / RULES CLINIC THIS THURSDAY***

A Referee Training / Rules Clinic held THIS Thursday, February 27th, at 8:00 PM, at the Northway Field (7202 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas).  It's a training course for our referees and a good time for any new captains / teams to get a crash course in the rules with GO Kickball.  Plus, you get paid $15 per hour to be a GO Kickball Referee!  After our training and rules clinic, we will head to our sponsor bar for some fun!

***SPRING SEASON T-SHIRT RELEASE & KICKOFF PARTY THIS SATURDAY***

Our Spring Season T-Shirt Release & Kickoff Party is set for THIS Saturday, March 1st from 9PM-2AM at Bryan Street Tavern!   Come pick up your team t-shirt, meet your team, and enjoy some FREE Beer for all GOkickball players until the kegs are kicked!  We're also gonna have cool games for everyone to play with prizes!  Also, enjoy $3 Fireball, $3 Wells, $4 Rumplemintz, and $5 Vegas Bombs ALL NIGHT LONG!  Friends of GOkickballers are also welcome for just $10 to enjoy the same beer, games, and specials!  Check out the flyer for more details!

We want everyone to have a great experience, on and off the fields, so the following are a few things that every GOkickballer needs to know to enjoy "Dallas's Premier Social Experience":

• Teams & Free Agents: Teams have been finalized. Please login to the Members Area (Go to www.gokickball.com/dallas. Then, click the Members Area link at the top right.) to view your team, Captain contact info, game schedules, and player profile.
• Game Schedules: Game schedules will be available Friday, February 28th, on the www.gokickball.com/dallas webpage (under Schedules/Standings). Referees will start games on time, so get there early!
• Field Location: Samuell Grand Park, 5800 E Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75223
• Parking: Please park in the parking lot by the field.
• League Bar: Bryan Street Tavern! (4315 Bryan Street, Dallas, TX 75204) We highly encourage everyone to visit the league bar after your game each week (and even before if you like...). There will be food & drink specials for all GOkickballers, so be sure to wear your game shirt!  
  GO Kickball Specials include: $8 Bud Light & Miller Lite Pitchers / Half Price Pizzas / $3 FIREBALL / $2 Wells / $3 Margaritas / $2 PBR Cans / $2 Goldmine Cans / $3 Domestics
• Rules: Please read/refresh yourself on the GO Kickball rules (accessed from the www.gokickball.com/dallas webpage).
• Team T-Shirts: Team T-shirts will be available for pick up between 9-11PM at the Team T-shirt Release and Kickoff Party at Bryan Street Tavern.  If they are not picked up, please see your respective team captain, as they will receive their remaining unclaimed team t-shirts before their first game. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your game time this week to receive your team t-shirts. Late registrants will receive their shirts by Week 3.
  **T-Shirt Enforcement**
  All players must wear their team t-shirt to each game. If players do not have their correct t-shirt, they will not be considered an official player of that team for that game. If the team has less than 8 total players or 4 women players then the game will be ruled a forfeit unless the opponent team agrees to play with non-team players.

• Cleats are Allowed: We allow cleats on the fields, but no metal cleats are allowed. Players are also not allowed to play bare foot.
• Alcohol Policy: NO ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED AT THE FIELDS. However, we strongly promote visiting your League Bar. No coolers, cans, bottles, or cups are allowed at the fields during the games. Water bottles / sports drink bottles are permitted, so that players stay hydrated.
• Pets are NOT Allowed: ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE FIELDS. Service animals are welcome though.
• Bathrooms: Please locate the nearest Portable Toilet (Port-a-potty), in the parking lot, for all your bathroom needs.  Additionally, please do not use the bushes.
• Clean Up: Please bring a team trash bag, and clean around your field, after each game. The parks can cancel our games if we leave debris around the fields.  WE ARE NOT YOUR MOM OR DAD, and we do not have degrees in Sanitation Engineering... therefore we are not qualified to pick up after you.
• Certified & Trained Referees & Field Supervisors: All referees and field supervisors have gone through training and have been certified to better officiate all games. Please go to them with any questions, and recognize them as the person in charge of their respective fields. Please be respectful of the referees and field supervisors. They are there to provide you with a better experience.
• Conduct: Field supervisors and referees are empowered to give warnings and eject players that are behaving inappropriately. Inappropriate behavior is defined, in more detail, under the 'Rules' section of the GKB Dallas website, and it is at the discretion of the referee and field supervisor. Keep in mind, that while we all play hard and want to win, let's all have fun and enjoy socializing with new friends.  REMEMBER, IT'S JUST KICKBALL!
• Rainout Policy: Rain is an element of the game and does not necessarily cancel a game. The 'Game Status' will be updated each game day on the front of the GKB Dallas webpage, so please check the website prior to your game.
• Captains: When you login to the Member Area, you have access to your entire team's email addresses. Please send emails to your team to rally the troops, and remind them of your game times. Additionally, the Lineup Card can also be downloaded from the GKB Dallas webpage, under the "Rules and Policies" tab. Print and bring lineup cards with you for your games. If you need a Lineup Card, the field referee has extras in their clipboard.
• Weekly Kick in the Balls Newsletter: Our newsletter, Weekly Kick in the Balls, is published Thursday afternoons. The WKB includes information about GOkickball theme weeks, parties, and most importantly, TEAM WRITE UPS!  Our Editor, Miss MariSa (NOTE ONE "S"), will be soliciting team write ups every week. You can submit a photo, poem, write up, or trash talking piece to represent your team.  Feel free to send in your write ups each week by Tuesday evening to gkbd...@gmail.com!
