Dear fredistrano users,
First of all, we would like to thank you guys for keeping an eye on
this project. Even though we don't have much time to spend on
fredistrano (one year since the last release), your support really
matters and helps us to stay motivated. More particularly, we have
highly appreciated all the messages posted on this google group. From
our perspective, it feels like a community is about to born (special
thanks to zemi and gabe for their contributions).
Therefore, we have decided to get back to work and update our roadmap.
Two important milestones should be remembered:
- Firstly, we will release in november the final 1.0 version of
fredistrano. To illustrate our motivation, this version has been given
a codename: "Wily Ariane" (related to the french rocket). We will
focus on simple UI issues and try not to modify the current behavior
of fredistrano (
http://code.google.com/p/fredistrano/issues/list?
can=2&q=label:Release1.0). By the way, if you detect such issues, we
encourage you to report them on googlecode.
- Secondly, we will release in a near future (due date not defined
yet) a beta 1.1 version. Its main goal is to support GIT. Since many
people asked us for this feature, it will surely help our little
community to grow. Additionally, we also believe that turning the
deployment functionality into a web service could greatly benefit to
fredistrano (remote usage): IDE integration, mobile deployment, multi
host deployment.
As a result, all other issues (milestone 1.2 and above) are postponed
to a distant future...
Please reply to this message to give us your opinion.
Regards,
Yann Le Blevec on behalf of Frédéric Bollon
PS: Speaking of contributions, we are also grateful to Marcelo DE F.
ANDRADE for his translation of the manual in Portuguese. I am also
proud to announce that a Russian version of the manual will be
available soon.
