Music producers, film composers, and percussion arrangers can now access the precision and excellence of The Blue Devils Drumline at their fingertips with Spitfire Audio's Originals Drumline! This new sound library will allow you to harness the spirit of the stadium with a collection of drumline sounds that are guaranteed to add depth and impact to your project.
Click the small green triangular Play button next to a sound to audition it. If the project is currently playing, the invisible superfly DJ inside Mixcraft automatically beat matches the previewed library sound to the current tempo. Use the scroll bar on the right to move the Sound List up and down.
To download more than one sound at a time, right-click on the library and choose Download All In View. This downloads all sounds in the current view. To cancel all downloads, right-click and select Cancel Downloads.
Bitwig Packages contain sound content created by our sound design team. The library of more than 4 GB comes with presets for synths, drum kits and FX, as well as a variety of samples and clips. Everything you need to get your production started.
Design your perfect snare as every tweak you make sculps your sound in real time. Edit the resonance to choose the way your snare interacts with the other drums around it.

Choose a beater head type for clear or mellow sound, then shape your sound with the tuning, and dampening to bring out brightness, add fatness and control sustain. Edit the Shell profile type, diameter, and width to adjust the pitch to fit your song, and change between quick hits or long, drawn out sustain by editing the resonant head tuning.
Best of all, all these controls work on the fly, so you can design your drum sound faster than ever. You can edit while your music plays to easily pitch drums to fit your song, tweak snares and kicks to cut through a mix, and more. Stop loading up dozens of EQs and compressors and create your unique drum sound at the source!
The included drum sounds are royalty-free and suitable for use in a variety of music styles. You will find hip-hop drums, punchy techno kicks, heavy dubstep snares, and some crunchy lo-fi drum samples.
99Sounds captured the source drum samples from analog and digital synthesizers, acoustic drum kits, and field recordings. They applied various sound design techniques to make the drums sound unique, including resampling to tape, transient shaping, layering, amping, and more.

The user can customize the included drums using effects like EQ, compression, reverb, and transient shaping. The library also includes a drum mixer, with volume, pitch, pan, and reverb controls for each channel.
DaVinci Resolve includes over 20 Fairlight FX plug-ins for audio repair, creative sound design and mixing. You can also add third party Steinberg VST and Mac audio unit plug-ins. When you drag and drop one to a clip or track, its custom interface window will open so you can adjust its settings. Multiple plug-ins can be added to a clip, you can copy and paste effects between clips or tracks, and even save an entire effects chain in the presets library for use in other projects. Plug-ins are processed in order from top to bottom. You can delete, open and reorder them in the inspector. If processor heavy plug-ins are affecting playback, simply right click and select from the cache or bounce options.

I expect when you download the content the drummers are unlocked, whereas what you've tried David, is to remove the sound library AFTER they've been unlocked... So would explain why you're seeing a different reaction.
The MT Power Drum Kit is a free drum sampler offering the powerful, high-quality sounds of an acoustic, realistic drum kit. Samples have been specially recorded and processed to make them ideally suited for use in pop, rock and metal productions.
As early as during microphoning of the set and recording of individual samples, we took great care to replicate realistic circumstances. Although doing so is almost impossible, we broke with tradition in sample recording, which calls for capturing every sound individually; Instead, our studio drummer played entire grooves. Then, we cut most of the necessary sounds out of the grooves, in various velocities, and processed them to deliver samples as realistic as possible. This is especially clear with our hi-hat samples, for instance.On the right-hand side, you can listen to demo tracks to hear the impressive results.
The 340mb library link seems to be missing all the actual audio samples for this to work. Would really love to use the VST but need the sound banks!!! I choose the folder provided after unzipping, and it cannot find instruments.

Have you try the RacikSuara Metal Kit? It has ambience and it has individual ambience knob for each drum sound in the right side of the GUI, see this pic:
Some other preset have ambience too.

I won't get all bitchy about it like I am prone to but the best acoustic drums, by a huge margin (IMO) is Audiolayer combined with a third party library such as Drum Drops. Nothing else is even close. Were the other apps shine is in the other features they bring to the process of creating drum tracks/patterns/loops etc. Again, just my opinion after 30+ years of searching (and still searching) for the best computer based drum solution. At present on a PC it is Superior Drummer but there are a few others that do the job very well. BFD, Addictive Drums, Perfect Drums, Galaxy Drums, EZDrummer are all close second tier options that get a run when I can't get what I want I want from SD. But on iOS the solution for me is crystal clear.
When we talk about acoustic drums are we talking about the sequencing features, etc etc, or the sound. Just because, for me, without the sound nothing else matters. Which is why Audiolayer is the only choice for me. I'd rather find a way to deal with all the other stuff myself and have a killer drum sound than an app with amazing features to manipulate samples that sound like crap to me.
