Thanks for the heads-up!  I actually hadn't yet noticed that the registration was openand and the theme was announced.  Looks like registration is due by 16 Feb.  Here's the theme info:

April Fools Ultimate is back for its 46th year, and we couldn’t be more excited! This year, we’re transforming the tournament into a festival. But what kind of festival, you ask? Well, that’s where you come in!
Is it a music festival with epic jams and groovy vibes? A Renaissance fair with knights and jesters? Maybe it’s a beer festival filled with cheers and laughter, or an art festival showcasing creativity at every turn? We want your team to decide and bring it to life!

I can put more thought and planning into this later in the week (apparently there's some big holiday tomorrow?), but I want you all to be thinking about it too!

Anyone want to volunteer to be on a Mothers Fools Committee this year?  I think that worked great last year.  There's not much work required, but don't worry...the pay is even less.

Any suggestions for the Mothers festival?  Perhaps a Music or Science Fest?  Maybe a food festival where we all dress as different foods? I mean, who doesn't want to dress like an eggplant? https://a.co/d/1XuWNKc

Or...Oktoberfest?  That would be fun, and should be easy to find costumes!

Be thinking about Fools Fest as you sip those eggnogs and enjoy those fruit cakes!

Useful dates:

• 2/16 = Bid window closes
• 2/22 = Individual registration opens. So presumably we should get a response no later than this time. Obviously I expect we will get in, but I'm still eager to see it official!
• 3/9 = First price increase. It's only a $5 increase, but if you expect to play, might as well register before this time to save those $5! Besides...I'll feel better seeing some committed players registered!
• 3/23 = Second price increase
• 3/27 = Field set up. We have again offered to help in this area, so please volunteer if you are able. This is a big part of why we get in every year!
• 3/28 - 3/30 = Tournament time! (Detailed schedule of course TBD)

Many of you have perhaps already gotten an email about registration from WAFC.  I don't believe anything is needed from you until the bid decisions are made though.

But you're too excited to wait, you say?  What should you do until then?  Good questions!  I'm glad I asked them!  Time to start making, acquiring, or at least thinking about costumes.  Here's some inspiration!  

Also, time to start thinking about and acquiring anything that could make for good Oktoberfest props, decorations, games, etc.  Devon, Ron, and I have come up with a few fun ideas, but there's always room for more!  And time to generate excitement and convince your friends not to miss out...especially if those friends are female-matching players!

I hope you all can make it...I expect it to be another really fun year!

• If you haven't registered yet, you have to do this before you can play!  Team is listed as Fredericksburg Mothers.  Should be straightforward, but if you have any issues, let me know.

• I don't have it yet.  I'll share once it's available.  For planning, assume roughly 9-5 Fri and Sat (3 games each)...and Sun depends how we play (1 guaranteed game, single elimination)!

Everything from last week's email still applies (if you haven't registered, filled out attendance sheet, or secured a costume, please do so!).

 ...but a couple short updates:

• Volunteers Needed:
• We are still looking for volunteers Thursday for field setup.  But we have also been asked to help as parking attendants on Friday morning.
• Schedule:

• Of note, first game is Friday at 1100, but please arrive by 845 if at all possible to help with our parking job.
• I have not seen field assignments yet, but it seems they usually shove us in the back, so fields 9-15 seem likely.  I recommend parking at the Overflow Parking on the grass by field 8, which can be accessed from the YMCA parking lot.

We have been relieved from our volunteer parking duties! Yay!! No need to show up early to help with parking but we do encourage everyone to show up early, watch some games, show some spirit and be Motherly.

My idea for a game… Pretzel eating boat race.2 teams of  5 people, 1 pretzel each ( not the Big soft ones just large crunchy ones). Each person has to completely consume the pretzel before the next person can consume theirs. Last person has to consume the pretzel and chug a Stein of beer.

Some last minute things and needs…

1- Please be prepared to contribute financially to the Fools committee. We haven't done a final tally yet so we don't have a suggested donation amount but it won't be much.

2- In lieu of a cash donation, team beverages and some for our opponents during our games can be contributed. 

3- Mustard packets. We need lots of mustard packets. Ok, that is an exaggeration and if we don't have them, no biggie but if you have some or can grab some, we can use them.

4- Lastly, Get your beverages rebranded with our labels!
