I was very excited when I moved to Fredericton 7 years ago and found that there was Free Internet.  I haven't seen a lot of innovation surrounding Fred-eZone since then however.  Have you considered expanding the network?  Also and maybe more importantly... have you considered allowing peoples devices to automatically sign in to the network.  This would allow people to pass through a coverage zone with a mobile device and take advantage of Free WiFi without having to look down and manually visit the HotSpot page.  If the issue is the acceptance of the Terms of Service... you could let users accept the terms on behalf of a specific MAC address and always let that MAC address directly onto the network.
Thoughts?

Thanks for your message and suggestion.  We are committed to Internet Neutrality and as such have not taken the steps to have users of our network create accounts and identify themselves.  Since Fred-eZone is a free service we feel it's important that users agree to the terms and conditions and the only way to do that is with the proxy page.  To allow devices to connect automatically would circumvent the AUP acceptance.  All that said we are reviewing how users connect to the network and one thing is for sure, given the number of personal devices we see trying to associate to Fred-eZone by merely being in proximity to an access point, we need to make sure that only users that intend to use the network authenticate to it, otherwise we would be over loaded with devices that simply have WiFi turned on.

We are looking for partners in this space to assist in developing the network, if you know anyone interested in possibly partnering with us, please contact me.
